Structural Design

Engineering that ensures a building's form can stand — safely, durably, and economically — under every load it will experience throughout its life.

What’s included

  • Structural concept and system selection.
  • Reinforced concrete design to IS 456.
  • Structural steel design to IS 800.
  • Seismic design to IS 1893 for the applicable zone.
  • Snow and wind load analysis for local conditions.
  • Structural drawing production and construction support.

Structural design is the engineering discipline that ensures a building's form can actually stand — safely, durably, and economically — under the loads it will experience throughout its life: dead and live loads, wind, seismic activity, and, in this region, snow loading. This is design work with very little tolerance for error, because structural decisions determine not just a building's safety but a large share of its overall construction cost.

We deliver structural design in accordance with the National Building Code of India and relevant Indian Standard codes — including IS 456 for reinforced concrete design, IS 800 for structural steel, and IS 1893 for seismic design considerations relevant to the region's seismic zone — alongside international structural codes and Eurocode principles where a project's context, client base, or complexity calls for them. Structural design is developed in close, continuous coordination with architectural design from an early stage, because retrofitting structure onto an architecturally fixed design produces worse, more expensive outcomes than integrating structural thinking from the outset.
