At the more intimate end of the landscape scale, courtyards and gardens are the private and semi-private outdoor spaces that give individual homes, buildings, and developments their own distinct character and daily-use value. This is landscape design focused on human scale — the proportions, materiality, and planting that make a courtyard or garden genuinely pleasant to spend time in, not simply attractive to look at.
We bring particular attention to traditional Kashmiri garden and courtyard design traditions in this work — the spatial logic, water features, and planting palettes that have historically defined outdoor space in the region — integrated where appropriate with contemporary functional requirements and materials, giving courtyard and garden design a genuine sense of place rather than a generic, imported aesthetic.
