Water and Drainage Systems

Managing water in and water out — designed for the site, the climate, and the long term.

What’s included

  • Potable water supply design to CPHEEO standards.
  • Stormwater drainage design calibrated to local rainfall and snowmelt patterns.
  • Sewage and wastewater system design.
  • Kashmir-specific seasonal drainage considerations.
  • Coordination with treatment infrastructure where required.

Managing water — both the water a building needs to function and the water it needs to shed safely — is a core engineering discipline spanning potable water supply design, stormwater drainage, and the sewage and wastewater systems that keep a development sanitary and compliant. Poor water and drainage engineering is one of the most common sources of long-term building defects and operational problems, which makes rigorous design at this stage disproportionately valuable relative to its cost.

We design water supply and drainage systems in accordance with CPHEEO manuals and guidelines and relevant IS codes for plumbing and drainage design. Stormwater and drainage design is calibrated to local rainfall intensity and site-specific topography — a particularly important consideration in Kashmir, where seasonal rainfall and snowmelt patterns demand systems genuinely designed for local climate conditions, not generic assumptions. This work connects with our Water, Waste and Natural Resources Management service for projects requiring treatment infrastructure.
